In my researcher’s work I have been more priviledged in terms of flexible working hours and access to different data bases (also for working from home already before Covid-19) which gave me opportunity to successfuly balance between work and home. During pandemic situation and several lock-downs, the home office was sometimes working almost 24/7 and it had become almost self-sponsored home office with minimal support from the workplace. At the moment this work-life balance has been disrupted and some emotional support is really necessary. Formally, the workplace is offering some seminars and events for keeping up well-being and strengthening our emotional resilience, but at the same time you get almost zero feedback about your work progress and the future strategy is unclear. It seems that everybody is fighting in his/her own field of work and sense of teamwork has been lost. Hopefully, women researchers will be more appreciated and seen as leaders not only as research assistants.
