    In my researcher’s work I have been more priviledged in terms of flexible working hours and access to different data bases (also for working from home already before Covid-19) which gave me opportunity to successfuly balance between work and home. During pandemic situation and several lock-downs, the home office was sometimes working almost 24/7 and it had become almost self-sponsored home office with minimal support from the workplace. At the moment this work-life balance has been disrupted and some emotional support is really necessary. Formally, the workplace is offering some seminars and events for keeping up well-being and strengthening our emotional resilience, but at the same time you get almost zero feedback about your work progress and the future strategy is unclear. It seems that everybody is fighting in his/her own field of work and sense of teamwork has been lost. Hopefully, women researchers will be more appreciated and seen as leaders not only as research assistants.

    My name is Ilona Fjodorova and I am a researcher at the Center of Sustainable Education, Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University, Latvia. I have been in the field of education for more than 20 years and there is always something new to learn. That is why I am here and looking forward to new challenges!
