Contrary to the expectations, knee prosthesis do not need to be chosen according to the sex of the patients. It has been demonstrated (at two year follow-up) that there are no statistically significant differences in clinical outcome between the two designs (male/female knee prosthesis). This is a good example as people tend to think that there are ALWAYS differences linked to sex in the medical field. But it is not always like that.
