The FIERCE Course is a self-paced programme developed under the Horizon Europe project FIERCE (GA No. 101061748). It explores non-hierarchical forms of feminist knowledge generation, bridging research and activism/practice to strengthen intersectional feminist alliances and counter the spread of anti-gender and anti-feminist discourses and politics.
The course combines academic lectures by FIERCE researchers with presentations from activists, who share knowledge and lessons learned from their mobilisation practices. It invites participants to reflect on the current political scenario dominated by the far right, engage in discussions on future feminist strategies, and explore pathways for building intersectional alliances.
The course is organised into three modules, with a total of 10 lessons for a total duration of about 4 hours. The first module focuses on anti-gender mobilisations in the current political context. The second module addresses intersectional feminist mobilisations in different country-level contexts. The third module examines transnational mobilisations, global challenges for the feminist movement, and democracy in Europe. The video content featured in this learning module was mostly recorded during the FIERCE Week in Venice — a live event that brought together feminist activists, local and EU gender equality organizations, and academia.
In addition, the course includes the recording of the FIERCE Final Conference – “Feminist Futures for Revitalising Democracy Across Europe” – held in Brussels in June 2025 at the European Economic and Social Committee. The four videos comprise the opening and welcoming remarks, followed by three panel discussions. The event offered participants the opportunity to reflect on FIERCE’s achievements and discuss strategies for sustaining its transformative impact across Europe and beyond.
Participation is free of charge and requires registration. The course is self-paced and untutored. All videos include optional subtitles, which can be activated by clicking on the small white square icon at the bottom right of the video player. Course materials and reference lists are also provided at the end of the videos. Under the Materials tab, you will find additional resources provided by the lecturers and activists. Upon completing the course and the final quiz, you will obtain a certificate of attendance.
We invite you to know more about FIERCE in the project’s webpage!
