My general research interests are gender studies, adult non-formal and informal education, gender in higher education, and gender and technology. I graduated in Educational Sciences from the University of Genoa, Italy. After a successful career in the private and non-profit sectors managing international projects on higher and adult education, with a focus on technology, I completed my PhD at the University of Paris X, Nanterre, France, under the supervision of Cendrine Marro and Nicole Mosconi. Since February 2021, I work at the University of Genoa, Italy, as a member of the Ulysseus University TEAM. From 2018 to 2020, my research activities at TCGEL focused on Feminist Institutionalism and Gender Equality in Higher Education and ICT Companies. Before joining the TCGEL, Trinity Centre for Gender Equality and Leadership, in September 2018, I was Visiting Research Fellow at the School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. From 2015 to 2018, I taught undergraduate, graduate and master courses at ISPEF, Institut des Sciences et Pratiques d’Éducation et de Formation, Université Lumière Lyon 2, France. Since 1993 I have been appointed regularly as an expert for Project reviews, assessments and evaluations for the European Commission. I have considerable expertise in qualitative research and in coordinating qualitative research activities in different languages. I have worked in consortia and as a partner project manager for more than 30 international projects financed by the EU on: adult non-formal and informal education, gender and ICT, discrimination issues (sexism, heterosexism, ageism, disablism). In France, I am a member of LEGS - Laboratoire d’études de genre et de sexualité. CNRS/Université Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis et Université Paris Ouest.
