Hello everybody, I am Carlotta working for the UN, single mother of two little boys and I am a determined activist for gender equality.
I got a degree in political science and international cooperation and I am a member of the Gender Task Force in my working place and I would like one day to become a trainer in gender topic since I am one of the ones affected by these gender differences among discrimination & stigma …
As a working woman, I face tremendous challenges regarding the work‐family balance due to societal, cultural, family, and gender norms. Covid was definitely a nightmare to fight with being alone and with two kids in a scholar age … gender stereotypes are key challenges women face in a patriarchal society we live in…and I want to give my contribution to this cause more than ever…

Hi, I am Christine Bingen. I am working in a Federal Research Institute in Brussels, Belgium. Since a few week, we were asked to prepare a GEP, which looks very challenging for many reasons including, among other, a lack of time, the fact that the management explicitly see the GEP as a kind of “formality” that shouldn’t require much time for its preparation, and the fact that the management added the diversity dimension to our mandate (meaning (1) that it doesn’t comply with EC’s requirements, and (2) that some member of the GE team who is really and mainly interested by the diversity aspects, feels disappointed that we have no other choice than giving the priority to the gender aspects.
The description of our mandate gives yet enlightening aspect on the culture of the entreprise and of the challenges we are going to encounter.
